History of Shoei

Shoei was established in Tokyo, Japan in 1959. The company first started out manufacturing general safety helmets, later in 1960 the company bought a larger facility and manufactured the first Shoei motorcycle helmet.  Shoei competes in the sector of premium quality motorcycle helmets with other brands which include Arai also from Japan, Suomi and AGV from Italy, the German helmet brand Schuberth, and the French brand Shark. Shoei has a proud history of innovation and excellence, being one of the first manufacturers to incorporate carbon fiber technology in their helmets and other notable developments which include advancements in helmet ventilation systems.
