MOMO Helmet
A brief history of MOMO
MOMO started out in Milan, Italy with a single and unique steering wheel designed to be used on gentleman racer Giampiero Moretti's vehicle. The steering wheel was unique at the time due to its smaller size and larger hand grip which proved more comfortable and gave the driver greater vehicle control. John Surtees of Ferrari noticed the steering wheel, decided to mount one to his race car and went on to win the 1964 Formula One Championship. After the success of 1964 MOMO the company was formed, the steering wheel went into production with their first major order from Ferrari. Recognized design excellence in a single steering wheel turned into world wide recognition for excellence in the design of racing products which now include steering wheels, gear knobs, foot pedals, driving suits, and much more - now including crash helmets.
MOMO Helmet - Enjoy the unique design
MOMO's racing products are based upon a history of design excellence, so how does the MOMO helmet fare? All the motorcycle helmets we have found are three quarter helmets which in our opinion provide a modern take on a classic helmet style. Current helmets include:
- MOMO Komposit Carbon
- MOMO Essenziale
- MOMO Fighter
- Mini MOMO

MOMO at this stage are not suitable for serious sport bike users due to their three quarter style, but we believe they could suit cruiser or classic motorcycle riders. The one bike that stands out in this writers mind to complement a MOMO helmet is the Triumph Bonneville. So if you own a Bonneville and are looking for a new helmet with a classic feel, you should consider a MOMO helmet.
